January 16-17, 2019

We are excited to invite you to our next great event:  SAE’s Connected and Automated Vehicle Conference Israel.

Automotive innovations are being developed in Israel at a faster rate than most other regions of the world.  With over 600 companies focusing on automotive technologies, many of them in cybersecurity, Israel has become a major hub for automotive innovation. Israel is ranked third (after the US and China) in terms of the number of mobility technology companies and disclosed investments, outperforming India, Germany, Japan and South Korea in terms of innovation momentum.

SAE International, the world’s largest association of automotive and aerospace engineers, is announcing its inaugural conference in Israel. A joint effort of Tel Aviv University’s Shlomo Shmeltzer Institute for Smart Transportation, Logtel and Spotam, SAE will hold a 2-day conference on January 16-17, 2019.

The 2-day conference will feature keynote speakers from Israel and abroad and is expected to attract over 500 attendees representing academia, engineering, and entrepreneurs. Dozens of technical presentations will cover a broad range of automotive technology and mobility topics, including automated driving, vision systems, active safety, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and smart mobility.

In addition to technical presentations and panel discussions, the conference will include main plenary sessions, a company exhibit area, a startup zone and live demonstrations.

  • I am not sure which track my paper should be submitted to.

Go ahead and submit your proposal to the session that seems the closets, even if it is not a perfect match. The organizers will work with you to place your presentation in the appropriate session.

  • What if I only want to give a presentation and not publish a paper?

You still need to go through the abstract submission process and identify your proposal as ‘oral only’

  • Is there a fee to attend and present at the conference?

If your paper is accepted, your admission fee will be waived.

  • What is the conference’s language?

All presentations will be given in English.

  • I’d like to give a presentation on a topic not listed. Will my proposal be accepted?

We welcome any topic so long as it addresses a connected or automated vehicle. Presentations can discuss technology innovation and applications as well as innovative business models leveraging connectivity and autonomous operation.

  • How long is each presentation?

Plan to present for 25 minutes and allow 10 minutes for audience questions.

  • How does the approval process work? How long does it take?

Your abstract submission will be reviewed and approved by one of the conference organizers. This usually takes just a couple of days. Your manuscript draft will be reviewed by subject matter experts from SAE’s volunteer pool. This may take some time, but you will get their comments and suggestions in time to complete and submit the final manuscript.

  • Can I talk to someone?

Of course.  Here are your contacts for the conference
